In 2010, I was releasing music. Music that needed album art. Strapped for cash, I pulled out a Photoshop CS2 CD and got to work. As the music started gaining attention online, so did the artwork.
Before I knew it, I was working in graphic design — collaborating with artists and record labels across the world. Eager for more dynamic and technical work, I developed an interest for designing digital products.
Still, I took up development first. I figured I couldn't start designing interactions and interfaces without understanding the technologies they're built on.
Never losing touch with my visual background, I shaped into a design generalist and technologist. I helped products and teams grow, mentored junior designers, and actively built bridges between design and development.
I always held the most important characteristics of a designer to be their adaptability and inquisitiveness. Upholding these values myself is the very least I can do.
