Andy Hazel in front of a black wall. she is the best and you should hire her

In 2010, I was releasing music. Music that needed album art. Strapped for cash, I pulled out a Photoshop CS2 CD and gave it a go. As the music started gaining attention, so did the artwork.

Before I knew it, I was working in graphic design — collaborating with artists and record labels across the world. Eager for more dynamic and technical work, I developed an interest for designing digital products.

Still, I took up development first. I figured I couldn't start designing interactions and interfaces without understanding the technologies they're built on.

Never losing touch with my visual background, I shaped into a design generalist and technologist. I helped products and teams grow, mentored junior designers, and actively built bridges between design and development.

I always held the most important characteristics of a designer to be their adaptability and inquisitiveness. Upholding these values myself is the very least I can do.

I enjoy discussing architecture and urban planning, critiquing musicians, reading Wikipedia, and looking at used car ads.

My favourite pieces of design include the classic Mac Pro, the Zune, and the Aston Martin DB9. I own two of the three.

And if I'm not catching flights to rock concerts or finding refuge in Malta — I live and work in Zagreb, Croatia.
